Ace WACE through endorsed programs

Did you know that community service, cadets, workplace learning, or university micro-credentials can count toward your WACE? Through endorsed programs, St George’s students can personalise their learning and gain recognition for valuable experiences outside the classroom.

Endorsed programs are officially recognised by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) and are designed to develop key skills through structured activities. These include workplace learning, volunteering, sport, cadet participation, and provider-developed micro-credentials like the UWA+ Starter. Each completed program earns one to four unit equivalents, which contribute to your WACE requirements. Students can count up to four unit equivalents—two in Year 11 and two in Year 12—toward their WACE depth and ‘C’ grade achievement standard.

The benefit? Flexibility and relevance. These programs allow students to pursue interests, build employability skills, and gain real-world experience. Popular options include Workplace Learning, Duke of Edinburgh, music qualifications, and community service, with new 2026 programs offering industry-linked skill sets and expanded school-developed options.

Keep an eye out for messages from Ms Yoxall, who regularly shares community service opportunities that can earn WACE credit while making a positive impact.

To get started, check the latest SCSA Endorsed Programs list, speak with Mrs Collins during Pathways lessons, or book an appointment with me. Endorsed programs are a smart way to personalise your WACE, document achievements, and stand out in future job or university applications.
