What a fantastic start to Term 4 for our Year 7s and 8s! It has been great to see so many students returning refreshed, focused, and ready to give their best. Classrooms are buzzing with energy as students tackle new challenges and continue to build confidence in their learning.

Co-curricular activities are back in full swing too, from Sailing and Music to Art and Homework Help. These opportunities help students connect with others, discover new interests, and strengthen friendships across year levels. It is important that all Year 7 and 8 students sign up for two Co-Curriculars for this reason, one being academic and one being non-academic. If your child still needs to choose a co-curricular, please let me know.

With just five weeks left in the school year, my encouragement to Year 7s is simple: stay organised, set small goals, and ask for help early. Keep a positive attitude, finish well, and be proud of how far you have come in your first year of high school!

Our Year 8 students have also started the term with purpose and enthusiasm. Many have shown real leadership both in and out of the classroom, setting an excellent example for younger students. It’s been especially exciting to see so many nominations for the inaugural Year 9 House Prefect roles for the remainder of this year and for 2026, a true sign of the strong leadership potential within this group.

Students completed their Oracy work today, which although stressful, was fantastic. The amount of time and preparation was truly shown. As we enter the final stretch of the year, my advice is to stay focused, manage your time wisely, and keep giving your best effort. The way you finish the year will set you up for success in Year 9 and beyond.

Keep going strong Year 7s and 8s
