Installation of Indigenous Artwork

Mickleham Secondary College is proud to announce something that you may have noticed already.

Over the past few days our new aboriginal art signs have been installed for our buildings Acacia, Banksia Correa, Darwinia, Eucalypt and Ferns. We are glad to have these new signs made by an aboriginal artist of the name Tinika who over the past year and a half has worked endlessly with students to develop significant signs with deep meanings if you look close enough.

So why don’t you have a look and see what you may find in our vibrant and beautifully developed new signs plastered along our building adding well needed colour to the school atmosphere.

Reveal of new building signs

During week 9, the college revealed new signs that were created by Aboriginal artist Tinika “Travelling Sprit”, on each of the current educational buildings. Each artwork showcases the native flora and fauna, and are a collage of diversity, inclusion and respect. These signs are also a statement that represents both a deep appreciation to the Traditional Custodians of the Country that our school stands and signify the Mickleham Secondary College school values. Presenting, Acacia, Banksia, Correa, Darwinia, Eucalypt and Ferns. As we are still in the process of development, with new buildings underway, the official unveiling of these artworks will take place in the new year. We look forward to sharing in this special moment with the school community in 2026!
