LUNCHTIME ACTIVITIES

Knitting Club

The knitting and crochet club at MSC met at lunchtimes in the library most Thursdays, enjoying some time together learning all sorts of creative skills Different staff members and students turned up with skills and interests at different levels. It was a nice meeting place and each skill mastered by one became a coaching point for another person.

It was fun to learn and get to know people with a creative flair and a passion for learning new skills.

Finally, an exhibit was put together, and students and staff alike enjoyed the display.

Hope we are able to run a bigger and better lunch time activity next year.

Thank you to all the contributors for their contributions, interest and participation and to

Mr Valimberti for organising and advertising for us!

Hope you have a safe and mindful break and look forward to seeing your creative juices flowing next year!

Japanese Calligraphy

The Japanese Culture Club has been all about experiencing the hands-on and creative arts from Japan.

Led by Kevin Chiu, students had access to a range of activities including traditional calligraphy and origami.

From the first session there was huge interest from our students, often drawing in passers-by.

This was a fantastic addition to our growing Languages program at the College. Well done to all students and staff who participated and helped out!

Design Technology Projects

To provide students with an opportunity to develop their completion of Design Technology projects, we established a 'Wood Work' Club which often ran twice a week.

Particularly toward the end of semester, students attended to put the final touches on their year 8 and 9 Designed Solutions. It was a delight to have students helping each other support the construction process of other projects, provide aesthetic suggestions - even selecting and mixing paints.

This program will develop further next year, providing students the opportunity to work on any Design Technology projects they have in mind.
