Celebrating Achievement
Ava McIntyre (Year 8)
Ava competed at the Cairns Cycling Club Crit Championships on 28th October. She had a great race and came 2nd in the sprint lap and 2nd overall for Junior U15 girls.
Then, she competed in the Peninsula Triathlon Trials on 8th November, and finished in 3rd place in the Junior event. This result will secure her a place in the Peninsula team that will compete at the State Championships in February 2021. Ava will be having a busy Christmas holiday in preparation for a great result in 2021!
Noah Atkinson (Year 11)
Noah has been signed into a school based apprenticeship with Far North Fabrications. He will be completing an Engineering-Fabrication qualification MEM30305.
Charline Scherer (Year 9)
Charline has qualified for State Triathlon in Hervey Bay in February! After a tough race, she placed second on 8th November in the intermediate division. Charline's commitment to training and perseverance is commendable.
Nicholas Galvin (Year 8)
Nicholas participated in the 2020 National Schools Bench Press Competition in August. Nicholas broke the Australian Schools Record in his age and weight class and St Mary’s Catholic College was Runner Up for the Best Overall School.

Bree Pendrigh (Year 8)
Congratulations to Bree Pendrigh who represented Townsville over the weekend, attending the State Under 15 Championships for Indoor Hockey in Maryborough. Bree's team made the Division 2 final. While they lost 2-1 she was named in the QLD training squad who now attends a camp in Brisbane early January.
