YEAR 9 HISTORY - MUSEUM EXHIBIT AND REMEMBRANCE DAY
The interests and skills of the 9.5 History class were reflected in the Australian Museum Exhibit assessment. Highlights included Bronte Matthews visual reconstruction of the Burke and Wills Expedition. Jayden Payne incorporated photography and primary source artifacts in his display of the Port Arthur Historic Site.
The final course topic, Australia’s role in World War 1, coincided with Remembrance Day 11th November. Each student selected an epitaph from ANZAC headstones and inscribed it on a poppy. The poppies became part of a wreath placed on the St Mary’s Catholic College Memorial.
