All-Schools Cross Country 2025

Cross Country season is in full swing and a team of four Wantirna College students represented the College on Saturday 21 June at Bundoora for the All-Schools Cross Country Championships. For those who are unaware, All-Schools are for students in all Secondary Schools in Victoria, so students compete against the best public and private schools in the state.
Our best result went to Chloe Grund who ran 2nd overall in the Female U14 event; she ran 10 minutes 26 seconds (10:26) for 3km. Congratulations Chloe on this magnificent achievement! Chloe recently won our College, Knox Division and Region Cross Country. She will take this great form in the SSV State Championships.
We also had siblings Chase and Holly Makaay competing. Holly finished 10th overall, in the Female U18 a time of 14:44 for 4km, whilst Chase finished 56th overall, in the Male U14 event with a time of 10:48 for 3km. Holly has won both Knox Division and Region whilst Chase has finished 2nd at Knox Division and 4th at Region, both will be very competitive at the SSV State Championships.
Lastly, Jayvel Singh ran 37th overall in the Male U18 event; he ran 20:19 for 6km. Jayvel won the Knox Division and Region championships so will be looking to take this strong form into State next term.
As Chloe and Holly both finished in the top 12, they have qualified for the National All-Schools Cross Country Championships this coming August in Ballarat, where they will compete against Australia’s best Cross Country runners.
Chloe, Chase, Holly and Jayvel will be representing Wantirna at the SSV State championships on Thursday 24th July at Yarra Glen where they will be competing against the state’s best public schools.
Congratulations on your fantastic results!
