Wed 18 Sept: Gala Concert, Bunjil Pl Theatre
The Year 9/10 Drama students recently presented their devised performance assessment, which explored issues important to them such as friendships, identity, and bullying. Throughout Term 2, they worked in groups to create original scenes, using Epic Theatre techniques and non-naturalistic styles to bring their ideas to life on stage.
Students took full ownership of the process—devising scenes and designing costume, lighting, and sound elements. The result was a thoughtful and creative production that reflected their voices and perspectives, and showcased strong ensemble work and growing confidence as performers. Performed to audiences of peers, staff, and families, students should be proud of what they achieved!

On Monday the 23rd of June, almost 200 Instrumental Music students across Years 7 - 12 went on the annual two-night Music Camp which was held at CYC The Island, Cowes. Music camp allowed us all to spend time rehearsing in our Ensembles, while enjoying fun social events and activities. The Performing Arts Captains did a great job running the traditional Trivia Night (even if I do say so myself), which was concluded by an impersonation round where tables had to do their best impersonation of Mr van Bergen.
Other 'downtime' activities included archery, the giant swing, trampolines, a dry beach walk and a wet beach walk (because everyone got saturated during a sudden downpour on that walk!).
It was great to get to spend time with people who have similar interests in music, and also to make new friends and get to know each other better. I loved how close all of the Year 12's were on our last Music Camp, particularly when we played a group game of soccer on the second night. The food was good, the Music was great and overall, everyone had a good experience. On behalf of all the Music students, I would like to thank all of the teachers for making it a great camp for everyone, and a special thanks to Lisa and Ms Manser for coming along to help.

What a great job the Unit 3 VCE Music students did at last night's recital. This formed part of their assessment and preparation for end of year exams, and required students to work with their teachers to select repertoire that reflected two contrasting works. We now turn our sights on preparing for their final recitals.
