The Respect Project – Year 9
On Wednesday, Year 9 students participated in 3 workshops on how to recognise and deal with sexual harassments, how to resolve conflict and how to maintain safe and healthy bonds and boundaries in relationships. The student’s positive participation was exceptional, and we commend them for it. We trust that the key learnings from these workshops help students to remain safe at work, school and in future relationships.
Thanks to Mr Ganesan, Mrs Collings, Mr Black, Mr Horner, Miss Robinson and Mrs Moran for their huge effort in preparing and presenting on the day. Here are a couple of slides to consider on sexual harassment and consent.
Student Attitudes to School Data Improvements
We are very pleased with the improved data from our Attitudes to Schools students survey feedback this term which shows big improvements in students experience in the classroom.
The work that teachers and leaders have done in maintaining high expectations of student, behaviour, attention and classroom participation have been having a positive impact. This work will continue through the teacher Professional Learning Communities program next term. In fact, our work next term will increase expectations of all our students to attend, engage and show evidence of their learning throughout every lesson. We will continue to build a culture of high participation and collective accountability.
To support this work, we ask for parent support to ensure your child comes to every class Ready To Learn - on time, in full school uniform, with charged laptops and a fully equipped pencil case.
