Our three-week to-do list

We are reaching the exciting, yet chaotic part of Term Four where Christmas advertisements are on TV and carols are blaring in shopping centres. But there is still important learning happening in classrooms, exams to be completed and 2024 achievements to be acknowledged and celebrated. With three weeks of school left, we still have a lot to do!

Students undertaking Year 11 ATAR courses are currently completing their Semester Two examinations, while Year 11 APEx students are taking the opportunity to undertake some workplace learning. All Year 11 students will return to school, and their regular classes, on Monday, 25 November.

Next week Year 10 students will complete their examinations. They have regular classes on Monday and are only required to come to school for their exams from Tuesday to Friday.

Upcoming events

We also have some exciting school events taking place in Week 9 of term, including the Year 7 to 10 Festival of Learning and the Transition to Year 12 Week. On Monday, 2 December we will acknowledge the academic achievements of our students at the Semester Two Year 7 to 11 Academic Awards Assembly at St George’s Cathedral. This event will be livestreamed as unfortunately we do not have the capacity to accommodate guests. On the evening of 2 December, we are excited to host our 2024 Lessons and Carols Service starting at 6.30pm at St George’s Cathedral and look forward to seeing the school community gather for these beautiful festivities. On Wednesday 4 December we will celebrate our 2024 Presentation Evening, also at the Cathedral starting at 6.00pm. This is a compulsory event for all students in Year 7 – 11. Some seating will be available for families who wish to attend until the Cathedral is at capacity and then it will be standing room only. Therefore, RSVPs are not required.

Uniform orders

Families looking to purchase uniform items for the commencement of the 2025 school year are advised that Tara Uniforms will be closed for the Christmas break from Friday 20 December until Monday, 6 January 2024. Their normal opening hours will resume from Monday, 6 January – 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday. They will also be closed on Monday, 27 January for the Australia Day public holiday. Families can order uniforms online at www.tarauniforms.com.au or in person at 1 Hasler Road in Osborne Park.

Please note that we are moving to new shirts in 2025 which can be worn outside of the skirt or trousers. I encourage you to purchase these new styles early as I am confident they will be popular.
