Final dash for the House Cup
House Week was an incredible success with Gandhi tying for first place with Mandela and winning both the Great St George’s Bake Off and the Super Smash Bros Tournaments. Thank you to all the incredible Gandhi participants! A special shout out to Ruby Mahoney (Year 11) who spent eight hours baking the winning tarts, persisting through trial and error to get every element right. What a commitment! (See St George’s Superstars).
Additionally, a huge congratulations to our championship Super Smash Bros Team of Dylan Momberg (Year 10) and Noah Purves (Year 8) who went through undefeated. This puts Gandhi House in a great position as we head towards the announcement of the House Cup, with tokens the only points left in play. This year’s points margin could not be closer so watch this space!
This week we commenced our Sync Swim practice for the 2025 House Cup competition. It is great to have these opportunities to bring the House together and build House Spirit and connections amongst year groups. I look forward to seeing it all come together over the next few weeks. Go Gandhi!

Last week saw our final House Week for the year finish with a nailbiter - with the Great St George’s Bake-off playing a pivotal role in the decider. Lincoln took home a third place in the competition with Alice Foster’s ‘Cheesecake topped Brownie’. Ruby Mahoney’s winning ‘Lemon Curd Tart’ not only looked spectacular but was a delight to eat. I would also like to make an honourable mention to Erin Sinclair and Isabelle Seymour for taking second place with their ‘Christmas Tree Caramel Slice’ and ‘Lemon Tea-Cakes’. (See St George’s Superstars!)
This week saw us start our annual Sync Swim practice. It was great to see so many students get involved early in learning the dance and I would like to thank our choreography team for giving up lunch times to help our House.
Lincoln 8 received their Pizza Party this week for winning the House Amazing Race. As we approach the last few weeks of school, I urge anyone with House tokens to ensure that they are bringing them in and putting them in the jars in reception. It is the last way for students to earn House points for their House and will ultimately be the deciding factor in who wins the competition this year, so keep grabbing those tokens and putting them in OUR jar!

Congratulations to Mandela House for an outstanding performance during House Week last week! We are thrilled to announce that we came first, sharing the top spot in a tight draw with Gandhi House.
Special shoutout to Isabelle Seymour and Abbie Brittain, who brought their creativity and talent to the inaugural House Bake-Off and claimed an impressive second place.
In the Super Smash Bros. Tournament, Finn Turner and Jacob White kept our hopes alive, battling it out to bring us a well-earned second place. Meanwhile, Benji Yan and Jethro Field brought their A-game in the dodgeball competition, securing us first place with an incredible, performance, just scrapping through. Well done to everyone who participated and represented Mandela. We had amazing participation all round. We hope you had fun.
As we look ahead, we want to wish our Year 11 and Year 10 students the best of luck with their upcoming exams. To our Year 9s, we hope you have an amazing time on camp and make great memories.
Can I ask that any House Tokens lying around your house are brought in and placed in the House Jar. We are so close to winning the House Cup, and every single token will absolutely count this year – Come on Mandela, let’s dig deep.
As we go into the final few weeks of School, with Sync Swim rehearsals starting again and assessments winding down, let us keep the momentum going and finish the year strong!
