Year 7 & 8

Three weeks to go

Hang in there, 7s and 8s

With just three weeks of Term Four remaining before the conclusion of the 2024 academic year, our Year 7 and 8 students are working steadily to complete final assessment tasks for each of their subjects.

Rather than viewing these tasks as a stressful event, or something to try and avoid, students are encouraged to see these tasks as an opportunity to demonstrate the academic effort and progress that has been made this year. The format and requirements of each task will provide valuable feedback from which to build upon at the commencement of the 2025 academic year.

Our Year 7 and 8 students are encouraged to manage their class time wisely, prepare themselves adequately, attempt tasks with a positive mindset, do their best and the result will take care of itself. I wish them all the very best.

Two of our school values are Respect - Respecting self and others and taking responsibility for sustainability of the Earth  . . .  and Integrity

- Acting with honesty and openness. To promote these values within our school, we encourage students to let someone know if they see actions or hear words from others while at school that don’t align with these values. “Letting someone know” can be in person, or via confidential Direqt Message, to one of their teachers. Doing this will ensure we maintain our wonderfully inclusive and diverse school community now, and especially as we prepare to welcome 120 Year 7 students and several other new students across Years 8 – 12 in 2025 where I will be looking to our current Year 7 and 8 students to show them the way.

Hang in there Year 7s and 8s. Three weeks to go!
