Year 12 WACE exams

I would like to congratulate all of our Year 12 ATAR students who have this week completed their WACE examinations. In total, our graduates sat 18 examinations over 51 hours in 17 days. The journey is done! Year 12 students will be able to access their WACE results from Monday, 16 December. Until then, enjoy much-needed rest and rejuvenation. The Senior Executive Team will be here at school on Monday 16 December to share their joy and support them in their results. We encourage them to come in and see us.

Year 10 and 11 exams

Our Year 10 students will next week undertake examinations - from Tuesday, November 19, to Friday, November 22.

Our exam arrangements will be much the same as in Semester One – held at CQU (10 William Street) - and students are only required to attend at the time of their scheduled exams. Please note that Monday, November 18, is a compulsory school day for all Year 10 students prior to the exam period starting and it is important that every student attends school that day. This day will provide students with revision opportunities in class. Any absenteeism on this day by a Year 10 student will require an email sent to the Principal, Mrs Tina Campbell on principal@stgeorges.wa.edu.au It is important to note that for our Year 10 students who have nominated to study a Year 11 course that requires a prerequisite grade, these exams are critical. They must work towards these prerequisite grades to assist in making informed pathway choices for Years 11 and 12. Please also find below our Year 11 ATAR examination timetable that will run from Wednesday, November 13, to Friday, November 22. Students are reminded that they should be incorporating intentional study time into their daily routine for these important assessments.

2025 Year 7-10 electives

Our Year 7, 8 and 9 students will next week receive a digital elective nomination form to select their preferences for Electives in 2025. Students in Years 7-10 at St George's study two electives, with choices for either semester-long or year-long electives. Further information regarding the suite of offerings will be shared with students and families via Direqt message next week. Electives for 2025 have been reinvigorated and we are excited to see what electives our students will choose.

2025 Year 7- 12 Booklists

Booklists have today been shared with families via Direqt message and are now available for purchase. Campion Education continues to be the provider of both digital and physical educational resources for St George's for the 2025 academic school year. Please order early to avoid disappointment and to ensure that books and supplies arrive prior to the start of the 2025 school year.

2025 Year 12 Murdoch FlexiTrack High

Applications for the 2025 Murdoch FlexiTrack High program are now open to our current Year 11 families. This program allows a Year 12 student to substitute one of their courses of study with FlexiTrack. Upon successful completion of this program, a student is awarded the equivalent of an ATAR of 70.00, which can be used to apply to an undergraduate degree at Murdoch University. To apply for this course, a student must have received at least a D Grade in Year 11 Semester One ATAR English or at least a B Grade in Year 11 Semester One APEx English. More details and discussions can be had in this regard with Mrs Sharan Tagore here at school.

FlexiTrack High is designed to help students develop the skills necessary to succeed at university. Murdoch University collaborates with St George's to provide a structured and supportive learning environment for students seeking an alternative to the ATAR pathway into university. FlexiTrack High utilises the most effective evidence-based teaching and learning approaches. The program is delivered as a blended model, utilising both online independent study and dedicated class time at each partner school. Murdoch tutors guide and assess the students learning experience and support teacher facilitators at participating schools. Students need to have a proven capacity for independent work and meeting of assessment deadlines.

Please note that the deadline set by Murdoch University for applications is November 30 2024. Due to university timelines, no late applications will be accepted. To apply to participate in this exciting program, please complete the following application form: https://www.murdoch.edu.au/course/enabling/n1101
