R U OK? Day 2026

Wangaratta High School recently celebrated R U OK? Day a little earlier than the official date to allow a range of community organisations and support services to join us and connect with our students.
The day was a tremendous success, with students participating in activities, engaging with service providers, asking questions, and learning about the many mental health and wellbeing supports available within our local community. It was fantastic to see so many students taking the opportunity to build connections and gain a better understanding of where they can seek help when needed.
We would like to thank the following organisations and community members for helping make the day possible:
- Headspace
- NESAY
- UMFC
- Hume Region Community Legal Service
- Hayley from Victoria Police
Wangaratta Youth Council
A special thank you also goes to Woolworths Wangaratta for their generous donation of sausages and bread for our student BBQ. We are also incredibly grateful to Mel and Abby, who volunteered their time to attend the event and assist throughout the day.
The overwhelming positive response from students demonstrated the value of bringing community services into schools and providing opportunities for young people to learn about the supports available to them. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this event such a memorable and successful celebration of connection, wellbeing, and community.
