Students Excelling in Local Sport

⚽ Isabelle Christison – Soccer Star Player

Year 11 student and Prefect Isabelle Christison has been crowned the 2026 Star Player of the League in the Albury-Wodonga FA Division 2 competition, polling 25 votes to win by one vote.

It adds to an incredible season for Isabelle, who captained Wangaratta City FC to a League title and was also an Age Group Champion at our Athletics Carnival. She has now become just the 27th WHS athlete in more than 100 years to win Age Group at both our Athletics and Swimming Carnivals in the same year.

Her Year 12 sister Claire Christison also had a fantastic result, finishing third in the Division 1 Star Player award.

🏐 Ellouise Jones – Netball MVP

Congratulations to Year 10 Ellouise Jones, who has been crowned League MVP in the Ovens & King 15 & Under Netball competition.

The Milawa defender polled the most votes from opposition coaches to take out the prestigious award. Year 8 student Ava Penney finished runner-up, with our students claiming the top two places in the count.

It’s wonderful to see our current students and alumni continuing to excel across local sporting competitions.

🏉Congratulations to Thomas Fieldew and Luke Pensak, who have become premiership players after helping College claim the Under 17 Junior League Football Grand Final by 35 points.

Year 9 student Luke was outstanding, kicking four goals and earning a place in the Best 6 players in his first game back after seven weeks out with broken ribs.

Thomas also capped off a strong few weeks, being named in the Best 6 in both previous finals and recently crowned an Age Group Champion at our Athletics Carnival.

Well done to Lachlan Downing and River Mackinon-Burman too, who represented Kangaroos in the Grand Final. A fantastic achievement to reach the big dance!
