📚 A Good Book is the Perfect Holiday Escape!

As the term comes to a close, the upcoming school holidays offer a well deserved opportunity for students to slow down, and recharge after weeks of hard work. While relaxing and stepping back from daily routines is essential, diving into a good book is one of the most effective ways for students to unwind. Reading for pleasure provides a gentle escape, helps lower stress levels, and promotes better sleep. Beyond the mental health benefits, reading over the break keeps young minds curious and engaged without the pressure of schoolwork, ensuring students return next term feeling refreshed and ready to learn. Whether it is a gripping adventure book or an engaging graphic novel, we encourage all families to make reading a part of their child's break.

Anomaly by Emma Lord

Anomaly is a brilliant dystopian / post-apocalyptic novel that follows the adventures of Piper, who survived a virus that has infected people across the world. Piper awakes with a dangerous new power over electricity. Set in a familiar, yet alternate world Anomaly also has moments of deep emotion, conveying themes of grief, loss and survival.  One of the latest additions to the school library, this book is a must read for fans of dystopia, science fiction and adventure novels. I think this is one of those books which has something for everyone to enjoy and I am eagerly awaiting the sequel.      Review by  - Clara (Year 12)

Temporary library in M-Building

As part of our ongoing campus upgrades, we are excited to announce that renovations on the Senior Building will officially commence soon. To accommodate these works, the School Library will temporarily relocate to M-Building from the beginning of Term 4.

  • Students will continue to have full access to our physical book collection whilst we are based in M-Building. Library staff will be on hand to assist with borrowing, returns, and research.
  • The library will operate from M-Building until renovations on the Senior Building are completed next year, at which point we will move into a brand-new library space in the senior building.

Thank you for your support as we create an exciting new learning environment for our school community.

New eBook Resource

We are delighted to introduce a fantastic new reading resource for our school community: Wheelers ePlatform. From the beginning of term 4, students will have 24/7 access to an extensive digital library of eBooks and to support both their learning and leisure reading. The eBook platform is fully integrated with our library school system so students do not need to worry about new passwords.  They can sign in instantly using their @schools email account.

  • Whether at home or travelling over the weekend, students can borrow titles on smartphones, tablets, or laptops.
  • Students can easily adjust settings to suit their preferences, including dyslexia-friendly fonts and customisable text sizes.
  • Borrowed titles automatically return themselves at the end of the loan period, so there are never any overdue notices or misplaced books to worry about.
  •

If your child has any questions about how to access this fantastic new resource, they are welcome to visit the M-Building library for assistance.
