Year 8 Basketball

Seventeen of our Year 8 students ventured to Wodonga on August 27th for the School Sport Victoria Upper Hume Basketball carnival.

Our girls finished Runner-Up, defeating Galen Catholic College (34-19) and Wodonga Middle Years Huon (44-26) to win their pool.

However, in the final, the powerful Catholic College Wodonga were too strong.

It was their second Runner-Up result in the space of five days, after going down in the Volleyball final last Friday, also to Catholic College.

These talented girls continue to impress in a wide range of sports, after a strong 2025 which saw them finish State Top 8 in Cricket, and State Top 16 in both Football and Badminton as Year 7s.

MVP - Co-Captains and Wangaratta Warriors reps Macy Boschetti and Ashton Ryan, and Joni Cornhill.

Our boys competed well, with two narrow losses in their 0-3 record, coached by Warriors coach Troy Lewis and Captained by Dayne Jeffries.
