Year 8 Hands-On Biology

Heart Dissection (**Content Warning**)

Last week, our Year 8 Science students took their study of body systems into the laboratory for a hands-on sheep heart dissection.

Working in pairs, students applied their practical laboratory skills to investigate the structure of the circulatory system firsthand. They traced the path of blood through the chambers, observed the one-way valves in action, and compared the muscular walls of the ventricles to understand how the heart pumps blood under pressure.

The students showed fantastic curiosity, focus, and maturity throughout the investigation, turning textbook diagrams into real scientific discovery.

Well done to Year 8 on an engaging and successful practical session!
