Year 9 Takes on Melbourne: History, Politics & Parliament

Our recent Year 9 excursion to Melbourne CBD was a fantastic success!
Our day started on the move as we navigated the city laneways and iconic Melbourne trams. Our first stop was the Shrine of Remembrance, where our students represented the school exceptionally well, showing deep respect and genuine curiosity as they explored the historic museum artifacts and honoured Australia's service members.
The highlight of the day was stepping into Parliamnt House, where students gained experience in creating laws inside both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council where we also met our local Ovens valley member Tim McCurdy.
Everyone was absolute awestruck by the spectacular architecture, especially the stunning gold trim lining the historic chambers. It was a memorable day of history and civics brought to life, and our students deserve high praise for their outstanding behaviour throughout.
