New Lunchtime Group! North Naarm House Band!

North Naarm House Band is a new lunchtime music group for students from Years 4 to 6. It will combine the existing fabulous xylophone group with new instruments like guitars, keyboards, strings and more!

This group will aim to provide music to support the choir at this year’s fete and backing music for singing at assemblies.

Students who are learning an instrument outside of school and wish to take part need to upload a video or audio recording to the House Band Seesaw classroom. They can enter that classroom using the QR code which is on a poster in all 4-6 classrooms.

We won’t be having singers in this group, but more singers are welcome in the 3-6 choir on Wednesdays!

‘Naarm’ is the traditional Woi-wurring name for the Melbourne area. A ‘house band’ is a group of session musicians who play in Theatre or TV shows to support guest singers and create cool vibes!

Finally we have some exciting news, our dedicated musical and creative parent community are gearing up for this year’s Parents Battle of the Bands.  In an electrifying turn of events, last year’s participants, Rock’n’Roll Call and the Heavy Dads are joining forces for the 2026 event. The funds raised through these performances will directly support Performing Arts at NMPS, helping us expand opportunities for students. If you’d like to support the parent band at their Inner East heat on Wednesday 30th of July at the Leadbeater Hotel in Richmond, tickets are available online through Oztix through the following link  https://tickets.oztix.com.au/outlet/event/a566ccd0-0086-497b-a39e-835d653d23cf
