Party Rockers in da house!
I hope you are rocking and rolling, having a boogie, or performing your heart out wherever you are because we certainly have been in Performing Arts!
At the Molesworth Campus (P–2), students have been continuing to build confidence as performers through drama, music and dance. Our Preps have been exploring storytelling through tableau and role-play, while also developing steady beat, rhythm and ensemble skills through percussion and movement pieces. They have been learning a lot about parks in Literacy recently, so we have been using parks as a creative stimulus ( to help fuel their imaginations and inspire their performances.
Year 1 and 2 students have also been developing their skills in collaboration and creation. Using their Literacy focuses of dinosaurs (Grade 1) and sharks (Grade 2), students have been creating performances with a wellbeing theme, using modelled conflict resolution strategies to help solve problems they may encounter in the yard or in day-to-day life. We are about to begin our First Nations unit in preparation for our incursion coming up with the Djurri Djurri dancers which will be a fabulous learning opportunity for our school.
