Group 8

What a wonderful Term 2 it has been! Over the past weeks, students have embraced new learning experiences, built confidence, and celebrated many achievements! We are proud of the effort and enthusiasm shown throughout the term. We have been continuing our work through the alphabet, practising tracing through sensory exploration such as flour, shaving cream and playdough. In addition Group 8 participated in matching, sorting, sensory play, games, and students built confidence in connecting sounds to letters and applying these skills in meaningful ways.

It has been wonderful to see students grow in their participation, independence, and enthusiasm as they continue their literacy journey. Group 8 have also been exploring different read alouds as a class. During these sessions, students take turns turning the pages, matching pictures, and engaging with repeated words and sounds throughout the stories. Some of the books we have been reading include Three Little Pigs, Five Little Ducks, The Hungry Crocodile, Tjitji Lullaby, amongst others. It has been wonderful to see students build confidence in engaging with texts and expressing their understanding of each story in their own unique ways.

Group 8 also had a blast during the bubble incursion, where they were able to pop big bubbles and be inside a bubble.  They waited patiently for their turn and had heaps of fun with the other classes too!

Great work group 8! Have a good school holidays and we look forward to seeing you next term!
