Sports

What a big nine weeks of sports we had in Term 2 and there's more to come in Term 3!

Term 2 started with our Yarra Division Cross Country and we had two podium finishes, with five students in total selected to go through to the Eastern Metropolitan Regionals Championships (see separate article in this newsletter).

Congratulations to Aemelia Stevenson who was awarded the Yarra Division 16Yr Female Champion and Riley Cameron who came 3rd, at the same event.

All year levels had the opportunity to play AFL and soccer this term, although unfortunately the students had to choose between soccer and AFL, as they were scheduled on the same day. We're hoping to get this changed next year, so more students can sign up to both sports, on different days.

We also offered netball across all year levels, and both boys and girls competed well. Our new indigenous print dresses were a stand out, with many teams, and umpires, offering favourable comments.

Our last sport played in Term 2 was badminton and whilst the Year 8 students had a great day out, it was the Year 10 girls who surprised everyone by coming home with the flag - winning the Yarra Division section and are now going onto the Eastern Metropolitan

Competition in Term 3. Good luck girls, we wish you well.

The start of Term 3 has continued to offer many sports opportunity, including table tennis. We look forward to the Healesville High School community continuing to embrace these events.
