Home Group

Enhancing connections across the school

Home groups have continued their competitive ways working collaboratively in the weekly Home Group Challenge.

Home groups worked together to identify staff from their baby photos, identify well known movie theme songs, work out AFL theme songs from their lyrics, take on a HHS HG quiz as well as many more competitions. The collaboration and discussion created by these tasks was enjoyed by all. A big well done to Ms Penrose and Ms Hughes' home groups who won the Term 2 challenge and earned their home group a delicious morning tea.

In addition to this, home groups also learned about and participated in various other activities including a weekly push up competition, Reconciliation Week activities and NAIDOC week tasks.

Our Captains, Tamsin Mallick and Natalia Macpherson-Daykin, wrote the following about their time in home group across Term 2.

During Reconciliation week, students learnt about the history behind the week during their morning home groups. We created posters and engaged in quizzes related to this event. It was very educational.

Home groups also competed in various activities including Pictionary, matching teachers to their baby pictures, elbow spelling, a push up challenge and matching native animals' indigenous names to their more commonly known names. Its been a lot of fun.
