A message from our School Captain

A few weeks ago we returned to school for the start of Term 3 and it's fair to say, the vibes were good!

For the VCE cohort it’s definitely starting to sink in that end of year exams are only 12 weeks away, especially for the Year 12s as we have just started our final unit of VCE work, EVER!

Study is going strong and I’m pretty sure everyone is feeling confident about their progress as we pass the halfway mark of this year.

In Week 1 we celebrated NAIDOC week by taking a look at many Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander elders who have helped shape our nation over the years and continue to do so. We also focused on the traditional owners of the land Healesville is on, the Wurundjeri people and talked about some inspiring local Indigenous leaders in our own community as well.

The Senior formal for Years 10, 11 and 12 was on at the end of Week 1 and it was absolutely great! The formal offers an awesome opportunity for students (and teachers) to scrub up and have a fantastic evening. This year’s formal was at the Chirnside Park Country Club and the theme was ‘Dress to Impress’. I decided to go in a full matching red adidas tracksuit and I’m glad there weren’t too many eye rolls :).

Kiah’s favourite part was getting ready with her friends and others said a highlight was watching the teachers let loose on the dance floor and chat with students.

Rehearsals for this year’s school production, Frozen Jr are in full swing. Its quite a large cast but luckily there are many roles to fill. Everyone is having an absolute blast at our after-school rehearsals and director Mr. Coady even organised two rehearsals over the holidays so we could keep the theatrical ball rolling.
