Coffee Delight

To the delight of many staff, last year a group of Healesville High School students had the opportunity to undertake a barista course, so they could use their talents to produce some high quality coffees using the HHS coffee machine.

In the last week of Term 2, under the guidance of the lovely Ms Battle, these students were kind enough to make and deliver coffees to hard working members of staff.

Term 3 has given a new group of students the opportunity to learn these handy skills. Across the initial weeks of this term, our current Year 11 VCE-VM students have commenced a hospitality course and as part of that course develop some very handy (and appreciated) coffee making skills amongst other valuable employability skills.

These students have learned about all aspects of working in hospitality from responsible serving of alcohol to safe food handling practices. Over the remainder of this year, this group of students will develop and implement a business plan which enables them to practice their new found skills and as an added bonus deliver some much need caffeine hits to members of the school community.
