STAR Reading Program

The start of Term 3 saw the recommencement of the Sit Together And Read (STAR) program within Year 7, 8 and 9 classes.

The program involves students and teachers taking the first 15mins of their Period 3 classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to read any literature of their choice.

English staff used class time during Week 1 to explain the purpose of the program to each class and to support students in selecting appropriate texts that were of interest and of an appropriate reading level. 

The key goal of this program is simply to encourage a love of reading in our community, with staff across the school role modelling their love of reading in these sessions. 

We love to see students and staff enjoying this peaceful time of the day and hope it helps encourage students to rediscover their love of books.
