SPACE TALK BY

DR ALICIA TUCKER

Kathryn Lamb (IGNITE Leader)

A group of IGNITE students recently engaged virtually with a presentation given by Dr Alicia Tucker at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital as part of their annual Pediatric and Emergency Trauma Day.

Dr Tucker is an aerospace and wilderness medicine expert with an ambition to be the first doctor to travel to Mars.  The talk explored various issues linked to children travelling to space. It covered the physiological effects of space travel on children as well as posing some ethical dilemmas. Students clearly found this talk interesting and thought-provoking.

Thank you to Jeanette Tininczky, an Aberfoyle Park High School parent, for providing this opportunity.
