BADMINTON 

YEAR 8/9 BOYS STATEWIDE KNOCKOUT COMPETITION

On Friday 5 November, students Leon, Kye, Gabriel and Talha competed in the State 8/9 Boys Badminton Finals at the Adelaide Badminton Centre after winning their minor round matches previously against Seaview High School and Brighton High School.

It was a tiring day for these students having to play nine matches each, best of three sets, over the course of the day, including some close games played to three sets.

However, the perseverance and determination of these boys was incredible as they defeated some of the more fancied teams from Glenunga International High School and Adelaide High School whose teams consisted of players who play Badminton outside of school.

The boys were only defeated by St Peter’s College to finish Runners Up on the day.

The fantastic sportsmanship these boys demonstrated in representing Aberfoyle Park High School is also worthy of note.

It is a credit to these students who consistently came out to trainings at lunch time a couple of times a week for the last two terms.
