MULTI-SPORT CARNIVAL

Briony Bryant, Health & Physical Education Leader

On Thursday 11 November, 55 year 8 and 9 students from Aberfoyle Park High School participated in a Multi-Sport Carnivalthat was held at Wirreanda Secondary School.

The day consisted of a number of different sports, played against Wirreanda Secondary School and Christies Beach High school.

The sports included:

Boys football

  • Girls 9-a-side
  • Girls Netball
  • Boys Basketball
  • Boys Futsal
  • Girls Basketball
  • Mixed Cross Country

It was amazing to watch all students demonstrate high levels of sportsmanship across the day, with all students participating very well in their events.

As the day fell on Remembrance Day, all participants and staff lined up around the football square to observe a minute silence for those fallen in battle. Lest We Forget.

A big highlight was an impromptu mixed netball match held between Wirreanda and Aberfoyle Park at the end of the day.

Congratulations go to all students for their hard work, sportsmanship, and skills. All were very well demonstrated across the whole day.

Special mention goes to Scott who was awarded Most Valued Player of the Mixed Cross Country, coming in first out of all participants. Well done and well run! Also to Evan who was awarded the Most Valued Player award for the Boys Football overall. His ability to read the play and kick goals was noticed by the umpires and this award was well deserved.

As the day was labelled a huge success by staff and students, we are looking forward to participating in the event again next year, hopefully bringing home the cup!
