Cycle 2 Planners
On Tuesday 19 March, you will have received an email with your child's Cycle 2 planner attached.
During each semester there are three progress report cycles in which classroom teachers will assess your child’s effort, behaviour, and organisation.
Your child’s cycle planner aligns with the progress report cycles. The purpose of the cycle planner is to provide you with an insight into:
- What your child is learning in class
- Homework that they are expected to have completed during the cycle
- Any reportable Learning Tasks that are scheduled during the cycle
The cycle planners also support your child to organise and manage their time by allowing them to see the homework they are expected to complete and plan their time accordingly.
We envisage that your child’s cycle planner could be printed and placed on the fridge or a noticeboard, or saved digitally and be used to act as a way to start a conversation about how your child is progressing through each cycle.
Our classroom teachers will set due dates and check that homework is completed during each cycle. If a due date has passed and your child is yet to complete a task, they will be referred to a lunchtime Study Hall session. Two Learning Specialists will be available during Study Hall to support your child in completing the work required.
The purpose of the homework set is to reinforce the learning from the classroom and to develop study habits such as time management and prioritization as your child progresses towards their VCE years.
