FRANCE TOUR

23 March to 10 April

Amusez vous bien

Enjoy, have fun

On Saturday 23 March, we finally wished our group heading to France “Bon voyage” and they departed!

They have spent the week getting to know their host families in person, attending classes at our sister school (Lycée Darchicourt) and doing lots of walking! These strolls have take in the town of Hénin-Beaumont, where the school is located, as well as the neighbouring towns of Lens and Arras.

As I write, they will be returning from a day in Belgium, visiting the picturesque cities of Bruges and Ghent. Before spending Easter with their host families, the group will venture to Villers-Bretonneux where streets and the local primary school are named after Australian cities as a tribute to the contribution of Aussie soldiers who saved the village from German occupation in 1918.

Our group will also visit Paris for 5 amazing nights and visit the icons of: Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and Sacre Coeur Cathedral and will travel by train to Versailles to visit the Palace of Versailles and to Giverny to visit Monet’s garden.

We look forward to more pictures and stories when they return towards the end of the holidays.
