Melbourne Holocaust Museum

Thursday 7 March

Year 10 Humanities students went to the Melbourne Holocaust Museum to learn about the Holocaust through individual perspectives – and connect with Melbourne-based survivors through their testimonies and artefacts.

On 4 March 1984, the then Jewish Holocaust Centre opened its doors with a mission to ensure Holocaust memory was preserved for future generations.

40 years on, the centre is proud to continue the important work of the survivors who founded this museum by remembering those who were murdered, preserving Holocaust history and educating against hate.

Be Wise - Pat Cronin Presentation

Wednesday 20 March

Year 9 students engaged in powerful conversations about ending violence and heard real and relatable stories from Pat Cronin Foundation presenter, Steve O'Malley.

The Pat Cronin Foundation was established by Matt and Robyn Cronin in memory of their 19 year-old son who died from a coward punch on a night out in Diamond Creek in 2016.

Steve shared Pat's story, which illustrated the worst possible outcome of social violence and spoke to students about the choices we can make to end the coward punch and how we can create safe and kind communities.

Thank you to the Foundation for helping students explore ways to resolve conflict that can prevent a situation escalating into violence.

To help families support their children and learn about the presentation and the Foundation’s violence prevention education, please visit their website.
