From the Principal

As we reach the end of Semester 1, I would like to thank our students, staff and families for their contribution to what has been a busy and successful term. The many learning opportunities, performances, camps and community events over recent weeks have once again highlighted the strength of our school community.
One of the highlights of the term was the Year 7 Adventure Camp, where students embraced new challenges, strengthened friendships and further developed their sense of belonging. Thank you to the staff who supported the camp and made it such a positive experience for our newest students.
Students across the school have worked hard to complete a range of assessments, including CATs, SACs and our Year 11 students successfully completed their Unit 1 exams. The recent Assessment, Feedback and Reporting Day also provided staff with valuable time to finalise reports and support our senior students completing the GAT.
Our annual Course Expo was another successful event, with students and families engaging thoughtfully in discussions about future pathways and subject selections. Thank you to the many staff who supported students through this important stage of planning.
It has also been pleasing to see students actively involved in the broader life of the school. Our Big Freeze fundraiser brought together students, staff and the wider community in support of Motor Neurone Disease research, while our Friends of Northcote Movie Night this week will be a wonderful community event, bringing families together and raising valuable funds for the Thrive Fund.
As we head into the holiday break, I would like to thank our staff for their ongoing dedication, our families for their support, and our students for the enthusiasm and commitment they bring to school each day.
I wish everyone a safe, restful and enjoyable break and look forward to welcoming students back for another exciting semester.
