Year 12 Fundraising

The Year 12s have been passionate about raising funds to support the bushfire hit communities this year. We ran a stall at the Herbert Café Community Market on the 2nd May and a bake sale during Course Expo on the 3rd June to raise funds for a bushfire-affected community and the Year 12 Formal. Altogether, we raised a total of $2970.75. $1489.85 will be donated to the Victorian Emergency Relief, specifically, to those impacted by the bushfires whose primary places of residence have been considered uninhabitable and the VERRF board is issuing them with $1,000 payments to help support daily costs.  $1480.90 will go towards paying for our photo booth, awards and any needy students for our upcoming Formal.

It was wonderful to see the generosity of NHS staff, students and families, who put in their time and effort to donate items, bake tasty treats and drop by to m ake some purchases. The Year 12s worked hard to help sort clothing, prepare publicity posters, distribute flyers throughout the neighbourhood, rally each other to bake, help to set up the bake sale stall and pack everything up in the wintry darkness on the day of Course Expo. It has been lovely to see students, both past and present, come along to support our fundraising efforts and we are very grateful for the community’s support.
