Middle School Term 3
by Ms Eleanor Smith, Head of Middle School
We have kicked off Term 3 with plenty of exciting activities and opportunities for our Middle School students.
Over the past couple of weeks, we have completed course counselling for 2026 subject selections. It was wonderful to meet with students and families to discuss subject choices and future pathways. We look forward to seeing our students work towards their goals over the coming year.
The Year 10 Leaders recently organised a fantastic movie night, with the SRC providing snacks to support the event. It was a great opportunity for students to connect, relax, and enjoy time together outside of the classroom.
Year 9 students have commenced their Elephant Ed incursions, with an important focus on consent and respectful relationships. They have also been participating in dance incursions in preparation for their Common Assessment Task this term. It has been wonderful to see students step outside their comfort zones and develop skills to showcase in their upcoming group performances.
Our school talent show is currently underway, and it’s been fantastic to see our Year 9 and 10 students supporting their peers. The variety of performances and enthusiasm from the audience have made it a real highlight of the term so far.
Phones: A reminder that mobile phones must be kept in lockers for the entire school day. Phones will be confiscated if they are seen out of lockers.
Attendance: Please ensure your child arrives at school on time each day, as consistent attendance plays a key role in their learning success.
After almost 20 years of dedicated service at BHHS, we farewell and celebrate the wonderful Janine Adey as she begins her retirement. For the past three years, Janine has been an integral part of our Middle School Team, supporting Year 9 and 10 students and their families with warmth and care. Her kindness, professionalism, and tireless efforts have made a real difference to so many in our community.
We thank you for everything you have contributed to BHHS and wish you all the happiness and adventure this next chapter will bring. You will be dearly missed!
