Commitment to preventing & addressing racism

At Box Hill High School, we are deeply committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment for all students, staff, and families. As part of this commitment, we have implemented a comprehensive Preventing and Addressing Racism in Schools Policy, which outlines our proactive approach to identifying, responding to, and eliminating racism within our school community.
This policy affirms our zero-tolerance stance on racism and discrimination, and provides clear procedures for reporting and addressing incidents. It also promotes education and awareness, ensuring that students and staff understand the impact of racism and are equipped to challenge it constructively.
We encourage all members of our community to read the policy to actively support our efforts in creating a school environment free from racism.
Work has also begun on the development of the Box Hill High School anti-racism strategy. A working group made up of myself, student leaders, and Ms Chloe Martinich (Leading Teacher - Student Voice, Agency and Leadership) has embarked on this exciting project. Through student voice and agency, we will develop an anti-racism strategy that will:
Set the clear vision for our school
Set priority goals
Identify key areas for action
