Wellbeing & Safeguarding

Every day at school matters! Regular attendance supports strong learning habits, positive relationships, and a sense of belonging within our school community. We thank families for their ongoing partnership and support.  Here we have the attendance rates for the first half of Term 1 this year. Regular school attendance plays a vital role in student learning, wellbeing and connection to school life. Being at school every day helps students build strong routines, maintain friendships, and engage fully in their learning.

We thank families for their continued support in prioritising attendance and ensuring students arrive at school on time and ready to learn. If your child is unwell, rest and recovery are important; however, where possible, we encourage regular attendance on all school days.

Child Safeguarding

St. Bernard's Primary School is committed to providing a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for every learner. The Victorian Child Safe Standards guide schools to promote and protect the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people. These standards focus on creating a culture where children feel safe, are listened to and are respected, and where adults understand their shared responsibility to keep children safe.

All staff receive regular training to ensure they understand their obligations and know how to identify and respond to any concerns. We also work closely with families and the wider community to strengthen child safety practices across our school.

For 2026, our trained Child Safeguarding Team is Patricia Boak, Kate Bevan, Colleen McIntosh, Lousie Cummins and Robyn Hadley. These staff members are available to support learners and families and to respond to any child safety concerns. If you have questions or would like more information about our child safety policies and procedures, please contact the school.
