Foundation News

Well done to our wonderful Foundation students.
We are halfway through our first term of school! Students have already come so far in following classroom expectations, building friendships and in their learning.
In Literacy, students have continued to deepen their knowledge of rhyme and syllables. We have also been focusing on onset and rime through stories and hands-on activities. Students have enjoyed listening to, discussing and answering questions about our story of the week 'Bogtrotter' by Margaret Wild.
In Mathematics, we have continued to practice saying the days of the week, ordering daily events and sequencing events in a story.
A reminder that this Wednesday is the last rest day for Foundation students. We look forward to seeing Foundation students at school from next week.
Important date for Foundation 2026 families:
We warmly invite parents and carers to attend our Foundation Families Information Session on Wednesday 4th March from 6 –7pm. This session is for adults only and will be held in the Foundation Building (Please enter through the front gate near the hall if parking on Williams Road or use our school car park area).
During the evening, we will share what a typical day looks like for a Foundation student; explain our InitiaLit literacy program and talk about readers and home reading routines.
We will also discuss practical ways families can support learning at home, followed by time for questions. If you have any questions, you would like answered at this evening, please email them to your child's classroom teacher and we will respond to them during the information session. There will also be time for questions at the end of our presentation.
We hope you can join us for this informative and welcoming session.
Kind regards,
The Foundation Team
