Italian

Ciao!

Foundation finally met Pesce Palla, my friend from Italy, who is going to help students to speak Italian as he doesn’t understand any other language.

We are now working on presenting ourselves in Italian by saying our name and talking about how we feel. Everyone can say if they are “bene”, “male” or “così così” (good, sad/angry, or so-so), talking like a real Italian: using the correct hand gesture connected to each feeling.

Arrivederci!

Ciao!

Students in Grades 1 and 2 are now working on few new writing rules in Italian language. Most of them are very similar to English, however, Italian is way easier to write than many other languages. Firstly, we discovered that Italian has only 21 letters in its alphabet and now we are working on Italian vowels which could make few consonants sound differently.

Arrivederci!

Ciao!

Grade 3 and 4 students are working on one of the weirdest characteristics of Italian: everything is either a male or a female.

The funniest examples that we always talk about are: the word chair which in Italian is a female noun (la sedia) and the word table which is a male one (il tavolo). We are now practising on using the correct male or female article and adjective connected to the right male or female noun.

Arrivederci!

Ciao!

Students in grades 5 and 6 are discovering Italian verbs! We are now working on the verb to be at the present tense and using it on easy sentences. This is also helping everybody to review the entire vocabulary that we learnt during the past 2 years.

Arrivederci
