Assistant Principal's Report - Julia Bay

Happy Education Week!

This week schools across Victoria are celebrating everything that makes public education great. The week highlights the importance of learning, collaboration, and connection while inspiring students to reach their full potential. The theme of the week is ‘Showcase your School’, and we have taken the opportunity to celebrate the achievements, creativity and dedication of students, staff and our broader community who work together the make Doncaster Primary School the wonderful school it is.

At assembly on Monday students from Prep to Level 6 shared their thoughts about DPS. When asked what makes our school great there was a broad range of responses including; the diversity of our community, Maths class, friends, PE lessons, our friendly teachers, our beautiful grounds, whole school celebrations and Everest lessons. What was clear was the pride that the students took in sharing about the school to which they belong.

Thursday 21st May our Open Classrooms and Australia’s Biggest Afternoon Tea was a wonderful opportunity for parents, friends and families of DPS to experience what’s great about our school.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our students for their respect and dedication to being their best, our amazing teachers and ES staff for their commitment and support, and our broader school community; families, volunteers and community clubs that all come together to make DPS what it is. I have had the privilege of working at this school for a long time and I am very proud to belong to such a wonderful community.
