Term 2 Physical Education Program

Throughout the first 5 weeks of Term 2, students across all levels have developed their running endurance in preparation for the House Cross Country which was held on May 12th (see below). 

The Prep - 2 students have developed the fundamental motor skills of throwing, catching, jumping and balancing. Students experimented with using a skipping rope, building their coordination and rhythm skills. 

In Term 1, our school applied for a Sporting School Grant for cricket equipment. We were successful and have begun a 4 week unit on cricket across each year level. The degree of difficult has varied according to the level taught, but has including hand/eye coordination for throwing and catching for the junior school and overarm bowling and match simulation for the Level 3-6's. 

House Cross Country

Congratulations to the whole Doncaster Primary School community, who all contributed brilliantly to last Tuesday’s House Cross Country. The weather was spectacular and the students are to be congratulated for their inspired running. It was wonderful to see so many parents in attendance supporting their children on the day. Special mention to the work of teachers marshalling and helping around the course and the wonderful assistance of the House Captains who helped in the set up to make the day a great success. The results for the top 3 place getters in the Prep -2 races and Level 3- 6 age groups are below. 

District Cross Country

The District Cross Country team is now on Compass. We look forward to seeing all of the studennts compete on Friday 22nd May at Ruffey Lake Park. The schedule for the day is on Compass now.
