Student Representative Council (SRC)

The Student Representative Council (SRC) members, alongside our Vice School Captains and Vice Middle School Leaders, have been doing an amazing job amplifying student voice and actively supporting the school community. Their dedication, creativity, and teamwork continue to inspire both students and staff as they work on initiatives that benefit others.
On Friday 1 August 2025, Oakleigh Grammar once again joined the national cause for Jeans for Genes Day – an annual fundraising campaign that raises awareness and vital funds for children born with genetic conditions. One in 20 kids in Australia faces a birth defect or genetic disease, that’s about one in every classroom. The money raised helps the Children’s Medical Research Institute find cures, develop treatments, and provide support for children and families affected. It is a simple yet powerful opportunity for us, as a school community, to make a real difference in the lives of others.
On the day, students and staff were invited to wear casual clothes, especially denim, and bring a $2 gold coin donation. The SRC, together with Fraser Middle School Leaders, organised a Cake Stall at lunchtime for Middle and Senior School students to purchase some delicious treats. Junior School students enjoyed a fun Jellybean Guessing Competition, with SRC members visiting classrooms on Thursday 31 July and Friday 1 August with the blue jellybean jar so guesses could be made. Thanks to everyone’s generosity and enthusiasm, we proudly raised $1,907 for this wonderful cause. An outstanding effort!
A huge congratulations to everyone who took part in this year’s event, from the organisers to the bakers, the jellybean guessers to the generous donors. Your kindness, school spirit, and willingness to get involved make a real difference, and we couldn’t be prouder of our Oakleigh Grammar family.
