Community Engagement

Year 9 students are bringing their Community Engagement Projects to life, with initiatives that support both our school and the wider community. After weeks of planning, they are now putting their ideas into action, supporting charities such as Lighthouse Foundation, The Salvation Army, and the Australian Sports Foundation, donating books to Monash Children’s Hospital, hosting competitions and soccer matches to boost fundraising, and planting crops in community gardens.
Some students have focused on sustainability closer to home, presenting proposals to our executive team on how Oakleigh Grammar can better manage environmental issues. Their hard work will be showcased at the Community Engagement Presentation Day on Friday 5th September, where families are invited to celebrate their achievements.
Our younger year levels are also stepping up. Years 5 and 6 students are currently leading the Backpack for Kids initiative, collecting donations to support children experiencing homelessness while raising awareness about the issue within our school community.
These projects highlight the passion, creativity, and social responsibility our students are developing through service learning.
