House Swimming

Outstanding Performance and Spirit!

The Huntingtower Annual House Swimming Carnival was held at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) on Friday 21 March, and it proved to be an exciting and memorable day for all involved. The event was filled with vibrant energy, with fantastic participation from all houses, incredible house spirit, and cheering that created a lively atmosphere.

George H (Year 12) emerged as the standout performer of the day, breaking an impressive four individual records, one of which had stood for 20 years. Not to be outdone, Peter D (Year 9) also made a splash by breaking one individual record and contributing to the U15 Boys Bruce House relay team record. The record-breaking feats didn’t stop there, as the Mather U13 Girls relay team also set a new record, showcasing the incredible talent emerging from the Middle School.

The success of the carnival would not have been possible without the support of many. A big thank you to the staff who stepped up to assist with official duties throughout the day, ensuring that everything ran smoothly. We also appreciate the attendance and enthusiasm of the parents, whose support helped make the event even more special. A special mention goes to the Heads of House for their excellent organisation, and the HSAC and Sport team for coordinating such a seamless event.

However, the true stars of the day were the students. Their energy, sportsmanship and spirit made this year's House Swimming Carnival a fun-filled and memorable experience for everyone involved.

As we look ahead, we wish the best of luck to the EISM swimming team as they compete in the Division 1 Carnival on Monday 24 March.

Go Huntingtower!

Let's Go Rayner!

It is safe to say that 2025 House Swimming had the pool flooded in green. It was incredible to see everyone give their all in the pool this year. Even if the water may not be everyone’s best friend, the camaraderie and supportive environment on the day were unreal. With packed stands and loud cheering for both friends and fellow classmates, this carnival proved that there is truly strength in unity.

The relays, of course, were the highlight of the day. Even from the pool deck, the roar from the stands hit maximum volume with all houses putting in their best effort to bring their team home. We would like to congratulate all swimmers for doing their bit on the day because every point and race counts! But in the end, Rayner reclaimed the trophy, reigniting our winning streak and hopefully, setting the stage for a new swimming legacy to continue next year. And on top of that, Rayner is also the first house to win both the Bonus Point and the trophy in the same carnival!

Rayner, we are so proud of you for jumping in the pool and doing your best. Go Rayner!
