National Volleyball Tournament

The volleyball nationals trip was definitely a highlight of 2024 as it was the first time Huntingtower sent a girls' team to compete at the Australian Volleyball School Cup in the Gold Coast. Our team was made up of a mix of girls from Year 9 to 12, who came together every week to train. Despite being newcomers to the competition, we proved ourselves worthy, winning 1st in our pool, and securing an impressive 5th place overall, out of 15 teams!For us, the most rewarding aspect of the experience was the bond we formed as a team. For seven days, we lived, played and shared meals together, even killing cockroaches for each other, and throughout this trip, we formed friendships and inside jokes that will last us a lifetime.

Not only did our team become closer together, but we even formed an unexpected  friendship with St Ives, a team from Sydney. What started as friendly competition soon turned into mutual encouragement, and before we knew it, we were cheering each other on at each other's games!Overall, it was a truly memorable trip that we hope others will be able to experience. We are excited for the growth of the girls volleyball team at Huntingtower and can't wait to continue it as a yearly tradition!
