Autumn Concert

On Friday 28 March, we will host our annual Autumn Concert. This event aims to provide a relaxed atmosphere, showcasing the progress made by each ensemble. While the performances may not be polished or final, they will offer students an opportunity to experience the excitement of musical development.

Parents, friends, relatives and the Huntingtower community are cordially invited to attend. Unlike our Winter and Spring Concerts, this event will be held on a casual basis, allowing attendees to arrive and leave at their convenience. Traditionally, the concert has been held as an indoors/outdoors event to enhance its relaxed ambiance. However, due to ongoing construction outside the Orchestral Room, we have decided to relocate the event to our Performing Arts Centre.

The performance schedule is as follows:

Program Order (approximate and subject to change):

6:00pm - Huntingtower Symphony Orchestra

6:10pm - All Middle School Choirs

6:20pm - Guitar Ensemble

6:30pm - Intermezzo Strings

A Consent2Go notification for this event will be distributed soon.

Exam Success

We were thrilled to learn that one of our Year 7 students, Alice G, has achieved an outstanding milestone in her musical journey by receiving her Associate of Music, Australia (AmusA) in Violin. This remarkable accomplishment, especially for an 11-year-

old, confirms her exceptional talent and dedication to music. Alice’s exam program showcased a diverse range of musical works spanning different eras, including a Baroque concerto by Vivaldi, a Classical concerto by Mozart, and Romantic and 20th-century pieces by Saint-Saëns and de Falla. In addition to her violin prowess, Alice is also a talented pianist and has recently embarked on a new journey by preparing for her AMusA Diploma in Piano. To celebrate this significant achievement, Alice will be honoured at her graduation ceremony later this month at Hawthorn Arts Centre.

2025 European Music Tour Farewell Concert

The 2025 European Music Tour departs on the first Saturday of the April holidays. The 48 students have been rehearsing on Sunday afternoons and evenings since Term 3 last year in preparation for a series of concerts from in Germany, Austria, Hungary and Slovakia. This group of dedicated and motivated music students have formed into two choirs (Tour Chamber Choir and Tour Chorale) and an orchestra. The highlights during the two week we are looking forward to including performing in cities well connected with famous composers and musicians, such as Vienna, Budapest and Salzburg. In between, we are visiting and performing in very picturesque smaller towns such as Hallstatt, Melk and Füssen.

To provide a final performance prior to departure the tour choirs and orchestra are presenting a concert on the evening of Sunday 30 March in the Performing Arts Centre at 7:00pm (free entry). We welcome and encourage all interested Huntingtower community members to come along and support these intrepid musicians ahead of their exciting musical adventure.
