Wellbeing

From Shaun Andrews, Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader
The Berry Street Education Model
BSEM is an evidence-informed approach to teaching and learning that supports our staff to respond to diverse learning needs while enhancing student engagement, self regulation, relationships, wellbeing, and academic achievement.
Whole-school programs such as BSEM are most effective when the language and research behind these approaches are shared across the entire school community.
To support this shared understanding, we will be providing a series of BSEM Family Information Sheets over the coming weeks.
These information sheets will outline key concepts explored during BSEM training days and explain how this knowledge and related strategies support both students and staff. They will include practical ideas for strengthening this work at home, along with recommended podcasts, books, and other resources for families who would like to
learn more.
Each information sheet will also include a simple activity for families
to try at home, supporting shared understanding and promoting
wellbeing for all.
