The colder weather has certainly arrived, with chilly mornings ahead of us. Despite the change in weather, the past fortnight has been full of activities across the school, with students engaged in learning, extra-curricular activities and community events.
Special Events…
5/6 Sports Day
On Friday 1st May, our Year 5 and 6 students participated in their annual House Athletics Day during session 3 and 4. Students participated in a range of different athletics events, including hurdles, sprints, discus, shot put and long jump. Well done to all students for their engagement on the day!
Year 2 Camp Experience
Last week, our Year 2 students enjoyed an exciting Camp Experience filled with fun, learning and new experiences.
Students participated in several incursions on Wednesday 6th May followed by a special “Stay Late” evening, where they enjoyed sharing pizza and sushi with their classmates.
Despite the cold weather, on Thursday students headed off on their excursion to ScienceWorks. Students explored a range of interactive exhibits and participated in engaging hands-on activities throughout the day. Thank you to the parents who assisted on this excursion.
District Cross Country
Congratulations to our students who participated in the District Cross County event last Friday. A number of our students participated extremely well and have progressed to the Division Cross Country event that will be held on Wednesday 27th May. We wish these students the best of luck when they next race!
Family Afternoon Tea/Community Picnic
Last Friday we celebrated our Family Afternoon Tea/Community Picnic by opening our Errol Street campus up for families to come together and enjoy a special afternoon together. Families were treated to a performance from our Xylophone Club and had the chance to buy baked goods from our P&F Association. There was also an opportunity for families to have photos taken at the designated photo booths to create a keepsake of the event. All funds raised from the event, will contribute to the upgrade to the Southside play area of the Errol Street Playground.
It was lovely to see so many families come together for this special occasion and spend time connecting with one another. Thank you to our P&F Association for organising and running this wonderful event.
We hope all families who attended enjoyed the afternoon.
Looking Ahead…
