Parents & Friends

From Jen Nguyen, President, Parents & Friends
Afternoon Tea Success!
THANK YOU to our wonderful bakers, volunteers, and families who attended!
What a fabulous turnout for our Afternoon Tea. The weather was perfect, the baked goods were absolutely delicious, and the Photobooth brought plenty of fun and laughter throughout the day.
We’re thrilled to share that we raised approximately $2,500 towards the Errol Street Playground redevelopment — an amazing community effort!
Trivia Night
Planning for our Trivia Night is well underway! After such a fun and successful inaugural event last year, we're excited to bring it back. With our expanded P&F team, we’re hoping to make it even bigger and better—pending confirmation of the City of Melbourne CUTHs grant.
Date: Saturday 25 July (evening)Location: The Meat Market
Stay tuned for more details in upcoming newsletters.
Meet the P&F Team
Over the next few newsletters, we’ll be introducing members of the P&F team.
First up — our President:
Hi, I’m Jen Nguyen — mum to Leo (Grade 2) and Franklin (Franky, 3 years old), dog mum to Pancho (our French Bulldog), and wife to Dane.
I work in the Digital Health branch at the Department of Health, where I support stakeholder engagement with hospitals across the state, helping onboard patient and clinical data into a secure health information sharing system. I’m passionate about creating connections through shared information.
That same sense of connection is why I’ve loved being part of the P&F Association since Leo was in Prep. I truly enjoy bringing people together and helping build a strong, inclusive community where everyone feels they belong.
5 Fun Facts about me and the family:
- My nickname is “Genuine” (how my name is pronounced—and it fits!).
- I was proposed to while scuba diving.
- I hiked to Everest Base Camp last year with friends.
- Leo was born in New York (he’s a dual citizen!).
- To our surprise, we discovered that Dane’s DNA is 2% Vietnamese, 1% Chinese, and 97% mixed Caucasian. I’m 100% Vietnamese. A story long ago of an ancestor running away with an Asian woman during the gold rush.
That’s it from me, looking forward to seeing your friendly faces around!
